Derrick Rose's injury is an excuse to slag on adidas

By DA | at
Finding out Derrick Rose has a torn meniscus and will be out indefinitely feels like a fictional complication, the kind of twist a team of television writers would devise at the end of their drama's fourth season. Chicago Bulls fans aren't the only ones missing out due to Rose's injury; among the wider basketball fandom, Rose probably inspired more awe at his sheer athleticism than anyone other than LeBron, and his absence leaves a hole in the NBA landscape.

Of course, this is just an excuse for some people to snipe at adidas, Rose's sneaker sponsor. See, Rose and Robert Griffin III are adidas's cornerstone endorsers, and both of them have suffered severe lower-body injuries in their young careers. So, obviously, they've gotten hurt because they wear adidas shoes, and you'd be a FOOL to wear adidas. A fool!

(This guy's profile says he's a Nike sales rep. Stay classy.)
