The Atlantic has published a seemingly sensible explanation by Allison Schrager about why the United States only needs two time zones. Basically, it’s because we already operate on only two time zones, anyway.
(Note: Someday, you will all see the utility of switching to a 13-month calendar. 13 months at 28 days each equals 364 days. Then add a Day Zero at the start/end of every year. Easy. And makes the calendar FAR more logical.)
